Things to do in Vienna: September 2017

You thought that the time of year for cool outdoor events is already over? Not in Vienna. This month a lot of events take place outside in the streets and parks of the city. We hope you enjoy an unforgettable September in Vienna.


Right at the beginning of the month, the Viennese nightlife presents itself at its best. The whole city turns into a huge party mile. Numerous clubs open their doors and together you celebrate the last summer days. The highlight of this event is the street parade along the famous “Ring”to the town hall. The festival ends on Sunday at a pool party in the “Pratersauna”.

For the seventh time in a row, the “Wiener Karlsplatz” turns into a hotspot for international street art. The entrance is free and from clownery, juggling, art, music, dance to fire acrobatics everything can be found here.

Buskers Festival



A popular music festival in the capital city. With more than 100 international acts ranging from alternative to electronic and club music, the festival convinces almost everyone. The music festival will take place in the ninth district of Vienna and the so-called festival center is located at the “WUK”. This year’s guest countries are Italy and the Czech Republic. The music conference as well as a workshop will be held at the “WUK” on Saturday.

A must for all fashionistas. For the ninth time in a row, the Vienna Fashion Week takes place in front of the “Museumsquartier”. More than 70 international and national designers present their collections on the catwalk. Every day there are various fashion shows as well as cool after-show parties. Visitors can have a look at the new collections and even buy them in the pop-up store as well as in the sales area of ​​Quartier21.

The motto of this event is: Gustieren und Probieren (EN: taste and enjoy). The „Babenbergerstraße“ turns into a boulevard, which invites you to get to know other people, dance, explore and to join some of the activities. An FM4 concert, a great street art show with numerous artists and an Urban Space Market are just a few of the exciting highlights. Last year over 30.000 people attended the festival and made it a fixed part of Vienna’s cultural calendar.

If you want to explore Vienna’s unique vineyards, you should definitely participate in this hiking tour. Enjoy a beautiful view over the roof tops of Vienna and get the chance to taste delicious Viennese wines. On three different routes with a total length of 25 kilometers, you can get to know the Viennese wine landscape.
