STREET ART & GRAFFITI IN VIENNA

Austria’s biggest street art festival “CALLE LIBRE” turns the capital into a colourful hot spot for the international art scene. This 3-day festival will take place at several locations in Vienna and will surprise with “live-paintings”, lectures by artists, workshops as well as exciting exhibitions. On Saturday, a CALLE LIBRE URBAN ART TOUR is offered, starting at 05:00 pm at the “Karl Farkas Park”. The event ends on Sunday with a closing hosted by “Tanz Durch den Tag”.

KUNST AM KANAL

The WERK in Vienna is celebrating its 11th anniversary and everyone is invited to join the party. A festival along the Danube Canal, including bands like “Speaking Silence” or “Picaro (s)”, but also a Poetry Slam, various film screenings, readings and vernissages are planned.

OTTAKRINGER BRAUKULTUR WOCHEN

For nine weeks, the Ottakringer Brewery turns itself into a paradise for beer lovers. Visitors can taste the unique Ottakringer beer, but also various beers from different guest breweries. If you would like to have a look behind the scenes of the brewery, you can take part in one of the guided tours. On Saturdays, there is also live-music in the evening for all those who like to hit the dancefloor.

AFRICA DAYS IN VIENNA

Pure joy of life along the Danube. Experience African spirit, a lot of music, dance, international artists and a colourful bazaar at the Africa Days in Vienna. The culinary offer is just as colourful and one can choose between varied exotic specialities. There are some charity days under the motto “Austria for Africa” and on these days, the entrance is free. However, a voluntary donation can help to support economic, social and human justice in Africa.

GÜRTEL NIGHTWALK

On August 26, the “Wiener Gürtel” turns into to the longest music mile of the capital. From Thaliastraße to Ottakringer Straße, there are about 15 stages, on which international as well as national musicians perform. Popular open-air stages are located at the following bars: Chelsea, rhiz, B72 and Loop. The music programme is dominated by pop and rock, but also the local alternative music scene will be part of it.

FRIDAY NIGHTSKATING

Every Friday it’s time for roller skates. Those who prefer to ride a bike can also participate. Departure is always at 09:00 pm at “Heldenplatz”, but the route changes weekly. The entire route is secured by police and the event only takes place when the road is dry.
