Austria is known for its mountains and skiing resorts. Yet, skiing and snowboarding are not the only winter sports you can indulge in. Ice skating is increasing in popularity every year. Without a long journey you can skate amidst Vienna. At the Vienna Ice World in front of Vienna’s City Hall – sightseeing included.
Vienna Ice World (Wiener Eistraum)
Each year, the square in front of Vienna’s City Hall transforms into one big ice rink. From the end of January until the beginning of March, you can skate in front of the City Hall. When you need a break from skating, you can stop at one of the many outdoor stalls. Treat yourself to a hot punch or eat a sweet snack. Even a musical background ranging from classics to today’s hits is provided!
We took the opportunity and did an excursion with our ActiLingua students – but check out yourself!
