Annual review: This has happened 2015 at ActiLingua

This year, our students experienced many beautiful and hilarious moments at ActiLingua. We look back on 2015.

Have you ever seen our activity programme? If so, you know how extensive it is. Every week, there are new exciting lectures, excursions and activities. Once again, this year our students made the most of what we offer and learned a lot about the Austrian culture.

City walks

The ActiLingua students found out many things about Vienna, while walking through the city. They heard about the legends surrounding St. Stephen’s Cathedral, they discovered the Mozarthaus and the city’s architecture.

Our students went ice skating in Vienna and they joined a torchlight hike on the Kahlenberg. But that’s not all: Many trips led them to cities and regions outside Vienna. This provided them a more detailed insight into Austrian culture. Baden, Laxenburg, Gumpoldskirchen were just some of this year’s excursions.

Our students even made a trip to Slovakia which is Austria’s neighbouring country. There, they spent a day in Bratislava.

Cooking evenings

During our cooking evenings, the ActiLingua students got to know Austrian specialities. They prepared Kaiserschmarrn, Palatschinken, Wiener Schnitzel, as well as biscuits and mulled wine, because home-made tastes best! 🙂

Viennese Waltz and other activities

The Viennese Waltz is well known all over the world. Everyone learning German in Austria should get to know this dance, too. Therefore, ActiLingua organizes dancing lessons throughout the year.

Of course, we planned much more activities! Our students, for example, designed Christmas cards for their friends and families. They also joined our workshop “Job and Career”. There, they improved their language skills and learned more about working in Austria.

Holiday Course

Our Holiday course also offered our students aged 16 – 19 a diverse programme! This year, our students visited, among other things, the University of Vienna, Burg Kreuzenstein and Linz. They liked to spend their evenings in a bar in Vienna or at an ActiLingua party.

Summer School

Our youngest students learn German at the Summer School 12-17. They played tennis and volleyball, they experienced Melk and a chocolate museum. They did handicrafts like friendship bracelets and greeting cards. In the evening, they had fun at our Teen Talent Show or Disco Night.

2015 was a great year and we are looking forward to 2016! If you want to see more photos, follow us on Facebook! There you will find even more impressions of the past year.
